A ROMMantic Rise to Stardom: Sheki, Jay-R and Ailla make waves in 2018

The year which is about to close has become a successful journey to the ROMMantics. In fact, the 30th Asia Pacific Awards bestowed the Best Talent Management of 2018 to ROMMantic Talent Management. There used to be plenty of them under the ROMMantic roof but the number has been trimmed down leaving the talented loyal ones in the stable.

Although the films the ROMMantic Entertainment Productions have produced and directed in 2018 were starred by ROMMantics, there are three of them who have quiet performed well this year.

Sheki Arzaga, who is a singer-dancer, was a two-time daily winner of Tawag ng Tanghalan sa Showtime. But her biggest break was her proclamation as the Grand Winner of MNL48, an all-girl sing-and-dance Filipino idol group which is the Philippine chapter of Japanese pop group phenomenon AKB48. There were a multitude of young girls who auditioned for this competition which happened in the noontime show, It's Showtime. But in the final round, only 48 girls were selected and ROMMantic Sheki was proclaimed the Center Girl of girl group. Sheki has done one film to her credit, the multi-awarded Agaw Pansin.

 Jay-R Ramos, on the other hand, was proclaimed Grand Winner of Boardwalk National Model search.  He also did a commercial for Jollibee and Solane wherein he was lead. Jay-R also did print ad for Freshgear; a billboard for Belleza Spa and AVP for Uniball Philippines and Ocean Park. He starred in films like Cuckoo, Cincowentro Dos, Beki't Ako, Balikuko, Ama Ka Ng Anak Mo, Bata Bata Bakit Ka Ginawa, Pinagtagpo Pinagtagpi and Tickled Pink. He was awarded Most Promising Young Actor in the Golden Eagle Awards 2018 and Best Actor for his performance in the suspense thriller, Cuckoo in the 30th Asia Pacific Awards. Jay-R Ramos has signed up an exclusive contract with Regal Entertainment Inc. formerly Regal Films. For this outfit, he starred in films like Wild and Free and a brief role in One Great Love, an official entry to the 44th Metro Manila Film Festival. He had also finished shooting his third movie with Regal, Time and Again, directed by one great director, Joey Reyes opposite Wynwyn Marquez and Enzo Pineda.

Ailla Nolasco, a flight attendant, has modelled for Rodeo Jeans. She also did a billboard for Belleza Spa and AVP for Lupel Corporation & Ocean Park. On television, Ailla had several exposures. She was a semi-regular in ABS-CBN's I Will Survive. Her MMK stint was with Zanjoe Marudo and Isabel Oli. Over at GMA 7, she starred opposite Paolo Contis and Valeen Montenegro in one TV episode. Ailla did three films namely Akay, Balikuko and Tickled Pink. For the tearjerker Akay, she was proclaimed Best Actress in the 5th Inding Indie Film Festival.

by Direk Romm Burlat Just wondered why malicious minds are all over the social media declaring that Tony Labrusca is gay. I vehemently disagree. I tried googling issues about his sexuality. I may not have been updated. There was no instance did Tony or his close friends said he was or he is. I first met Tony during the Pinoy Boyband Superstar days where ROMMantic   Jay-R Ramos was also a contestant like him. Despite being brought up in the US, you can still see some Filipino values in him. I didn't find him disrespectful. The first time I saw him, I know he will make it in showbiz. It's true, he is Adonis personified and many women and gays will fall for him. Some Filipinos may not understand the way he talks and acts because it may be very American but I can understand him since I have lived in San Diego, California for a bit and been visiting US every now and then. Direk Romm Burlat wins Best Supporting Actor at Oniros Film Festival in Italy

Direk Romm Burlat won Best Supporting Actor in the Oniros Film Awards in Italy. He bested other performances in a support role as a mentally-deranged father in the suspense thriller, "Attention Grabbing" . It's local title is Agaw Pansin . Burlat , who is also the director of the film earlier won Best Director at the 4th Lutas Film Festival . Attention Grabbing is Burlat 's 2nd international award. It can be recalled that last year, he won Best Director in the 16th We Care International Film Festival  for the movie, "Father of Your Son (Ama Ka Ng Anak Mo)" in New Delhi, India. At the Oniros Film Awards ,  Burlat's ROMMantic Entertainment Productions won Best Horror Film for his movie, "Covered Candor( Tutop)" and a Best Supporting Actress award for Faye Tangonan .
