JAY-R RAMOS: The Next Important Star in 2019

There are dime a dozen youngsters who want to test showbiz waters. Some have looks. Some have talents. Some have guts. Some have connections. Some may have just luck. I don't really agree with the last one. I would rather call it destiny.

One aspirant who has the makings of a star is Jay-R Ramos. Some showbiz people said he looks like Gary Estrada or Mikael Daez but a lot commented that he is the next Richard Gomez. But this Saudi-born and raised actor has an identity of his own.

Jay-R Ramos is a singer and plays drums, guitar, piano and ukelele. Because of his talent in singing, he qualified as a contestant in the now-defunct Pinoy Boyband Superstar of ABS-CBN. Jay-R is also a model. He did some commercials and print ads. His first TVC was for Jollibee with Sarah G and Darren Espanto. He was the  lead of Solane's Mothers' Day commercial. Moreover, Jay-R is a grand winner of Boardwalk Model search. He was also one of the first models of Freshgear clothing. This dusky 5'10 model also appeared on a billboard for Belleza Spa and AVP for Uniball Philippines and Manila Ocean Park. He is the current ambassador of Uniball Phils.

As an actor, Jay-R Ramos has starred in eight independent productions from short to feature films.  His first film, Cuckoo,  which tells of a man's ascent to madness gave him a Best Actor award from the 30th Asia Pacific Award giving body. The movie also got shortlisted in the Cine Filipino and was an official entry to the 5th Inding Indie Film Festival, 16th Mindanao Filmfest and one of the Asian films chosen by Viddsee Juree 2018. During the start of the year, he was given a Golden Eagle Most Promising Young Male Actor  Excellence award. Jay-R has portrayed several roles in films. He was  a journalist during the EDSA revolution in Cincowentro Dos; a gay who wants to be a family man in Beki't Ako; a drug pusher-killer-lover in Balikuko; a retardate in Ama Ka Ng Anak Mo;  a good-for-nothing lover but transformed into a loving husband in Bata Bata Bakit Ka Ginawa; a heartless businessman in Tickled Pink and a composer-singer in Pinagtagpo Pinagtagpi. 



This multi-talented gentleman managed by Direk Romm Burlat has signed an exclusive contract with Regal Entertainment, Inc., formerly Regal Films. His introductory mainstream film was Wild and Free, a Derrick Monasterio-Sanya Lopez starrer. He also has a brief role in a Metro Manila Film Festival entry, One Great Love. This good looking young man has finished shooting his film with the great Joey Reyes entitled Time and Again which introduces the team-up of  Enzo Pineda and Wynwin Marquez.

A student of the prestigious De La Salle University at Taft, Jay-R also teaches bible studies in his church during his spare moment.

Looking at the way things are going, 2019 looks much brighter for Jay-R Ramos. With strong prayers and his dedication to his work plus our support, it is not remote for this young talented man to to be called the next important star in the Year of the Earth Pig.

BOYFRIEND IS DIFFERENT FROM BOY FRIEND

by Direk Romm Burlat Just wondered why malicious minds are all over the social media declaring that Tony Labrusca is gay. I vehemently disagree. I tried googling issues about his sexuality. I may not have been updated. There was no instance did Tony or his close friends said he was or he is. I first met Tony during the Pinoy Boyband Superstar days where ROMMantic   Jay-R Ramos was also a contestant like him. Despite being brought up in the US, you can still see some Filipino values in him. I didn't find him disrespectful. The first time I saw him, I know he will make it in showbiz. It's true, he is Adonis personified and many women and gays will fall for him. Some Filipinos may not understand the way he talks and acts because it may be very American but I can understand him since I have lived in San Diego, California for a bit and been visiting US every now and then. Direk Romm Burlat wins Best Supporting Actor at Oniros Film Festival in Italy

Direk Romm Burlat won Best Supporting Actor in the Oniros Film Awards in Italy. He bested other performances in a support role as a mentally-deranged father in the suspense thriller, "Attention Grabbing" . It's local title is Agaw Pansin . Burlat , who is also the director of the film earlier won Best Director at the 4th Lutas Film Festival . Attention Grabbing is Burlat 's 2nd international award. It can be recalled that last year, he won Best Director in the 16th We Care International Film Festival  for the movie, "Father of Your Son (Ama Ka Ng Anak Mo)" in New Delhi, India. At the Oniros Film Awards ,  Burlat's ROMMantic Entertainment Productions won Best Horror Film for his movie, "Covered Candor( Tutop)" and a Best Supporting Actress award for Faye Tangonan .
